UEFA Champions League -- Groups E & F
2021-11-01

This coming Wednesday, UEFA Champions League will offer soccer fans games from groups E, F, G, and H. Starting with group E, where current vice-champions Bayern Munich are in the lead with 9 points in 3 games, followed by Bassel, Cluj and Italian Roma with 3 points each. This has given this group very special characteristicas, because any mistake could be fatal, having all the teams apart from the leader very similar chances of qualifying. Bayern is playing in Romania against Cluj, in a very dangerous game for them. These guys from Cluj are practically unknown, so it should be somehow hard to prepare against them. The numbers say it is -142 for the Germans and +335 for Cluj, but I would not be surprised if they tied (+235, by the way), because the Germans tend to get suspiciously over confident when playing weaker squads. Let`s see...
The other game in this group will be between Swiss Basel (+165) and Italian Roma (+145). The Swiss defeated the Italians in Rome last matchday, so they are facing this game with a pleasant confidence, and the sweet possibility of a very probable victory. The Italians have not had a very good couple of weeks since that unexpected and, to be honest, humiliating defeat, so it's obvious they will go out and attack hard. That might give Basel some counterattacking chances, so it could end up in a tie (+235) in my opinion.
Group F is very simple: Bet for the favorite, there is no "Cinderella story" chances in here. Chelsea, who has 9 points, will defeat Spartak Moscow in London, and Olympique Marseille will do the same to Zilina in Slovakia. I rest my case, your Honor!

UEFA Champions League -- Groups A and B
2021-11-01

It's another exciting round of NFL Odds UEFA Champions League this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, with 32 teams fighting for a ticket in the second round of this prestigious competition. This round is the start of the "payback games", when the teams will face themselves for the second time.
Starting with group A, where Inter Milan is first with 7 points, followed by Tottenham with 4 and Werder Bremen and Twente, both with 2 points. The English are receiving Inter Milan at White Hart Lane stadium, where they will be a very difficult opponent for the current UCL champions. Tottenham had a very demanding match against Manchester United last Saturday (they lost 2-0), and maybe their physical condition will not be at its best. However, they are a very complicated oponent, with dangerous and rapid wingers that could do great harm to any defense, as Bale showed by scoring 3 goals against the same Inter in their 3-4 loss last October 20th. Tottenham is +170 in this one, and Inter is +145. The Italians could not have their star goalie Julio Cesar because of an injury he suffered in their last Serie A game (a win against Genoa), so there is a big chance that Tottenham can win this game.
In the other game in group A, both teams need to get a positive result, because if they don`t, they could end up very far from the rest with only 2 games left. Twente Entshede is going to Germany to face Werder Bremen, a team that is excellent at home, with a good balance between attack and defense, and that has the fantastic Claudio Pizarro, who some days ago reached the mark of becoming the highest scoring foreign player in Bundesliga history. However, the "Reds from Entschede" are not short on motivation either, since they come from defeating none other than PSV Eindhoven 1-0 at Phillipsstadion in Eindhoven. And Twente did not only regain the lead in the Dutch championship by doing that, they also beat the same team that smashed European heavyweight Feyenoord 10-0 last week. So, given the motivation the Dutch squad has, I`d say there are some attractive chances to bet for a tie in this one. Werder Bremen is -166, Twente is +425, and the tie is +275.
Group B hasOlympique Lyon as a solitary leader with 9 points, followed by Schalke 04 with 6 units, then comes Benfica with 3, and Hapoel Tel Aviv with 0
Hapoel Tel Aviv (+275) receiving the visit of German Schalke 04 (-117), in what the odds think will be a not very complicated win for the Germans, led by Spanish superstar Raul, who just tied Gerd Muller`s UEFA Champions League scoring record, reaching the astonishing number of 69 goals. There is no doubt he will go out in Israel trying to break the record, what does not forecast an easy game for the Israeli defenders...
Also in group B we have Benfica (+110) battling against French Olympique Lyon (+225), in what looks like an even match to me. I know the Portuguese are playing home, but the French are a very solid and dynamic team that knows how to defend. Plus, they are magnificent counterattackers, and even though they lost French forward Cissoko due to an injury, they have enough bench men to replace him. This one looks like a tie to me.
